I thought about your metaphor of the ideology running as an oS in the background this week. Have you ever watched the tv show Alone where people are hungry, tired, cold and isolated in the wilderness and dependent on nature to make it thru the day? They really struggle bc the oS comes to the forefront and can get very loud. I can remember one person saying “I feel like I’m not being productive out here” when debating whether to leave the island or not.
It’s set up as a reality show so the person who lasts the longest wins prize money. Which is a whole other ideology at work. It’s a pretty fascinating glimpse into human beings. Everyone struggles.
