Structural violence is an absent presence, like listening for footsteps in the dark. Because structures like patriarchy and white supremacy normalize violence that lands on the body, when the facts of our identities, bodies, or cultures put us squarely in opposition to these structures, we can register this conceptual violence as if we had been physically attacked.
We’ve noticed that when we focus our attention on our creativity and activities that light us up, we have more physical energy and mental capacity for more positivity. We can hold the vision of the future more clearly. Here’s to the new consciousness 🌞
